Vintage Diving Helmet

Vintage Diving Helmet

A few weeks ago I had the idea to model this vintage diving helmet and thought it is a good object to work on because it is not so commonly seen in the CG-scene. I used Cinema 4D to create the model and V-Ray to set up lighting and materials. What I like about VRAYForC4D is that it can be combined with all native shaders of Cinema 4D. This feature was intensly used when I created the weathered metal materials.

Wine Gums

Wine Gums

To learn more about the possibilities of VRay I played around with the FastSSS2 shader creating a winegum like material. I was pretty surprised how fast VRay renders subsurface scattering or DOF. It's not lightning fast but it's noticeable faster than any other render engine I tried. From this point I got the idea to model a plastic bag for the wine gums and some more objects to enhance the scene. After all I put together the whole scene and used the Cinema 4D dynamics engine to place the winegums on the surface in a natural way.

Tunnel

Tunnel

This scene was inspired by a photo I saw on the internet a few weeks ago. Now I created this CG tunnel scene lighten by a dazzling sun light to have a look at V-Ray for Cinema 4D. I have been using the render software recently and this is the first scene I created with this engine. After this short testing session I'm very impressed by the speed and realism of VRay. The tunnel is lightened by only one V-Ray Sunlight. The rest is done by the excellent Global Illumination algorithm.

Merry Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas 2011

Time flies and it is almost Christmas again. The weather and temperature these days are more like autumn so I created some Christmas lights in Cinema 4D to help the Christmas spirit come by itself.

I hope you have a nice December and wish you the joys and wonders of the Christmas season.

Happy holidays!

Leather Case

Leather Case

I put as much effort into the background of my binoculars image scene as into the foreground. So you might want to take a look. I modeled the case in Cinema 4D and created a leather shader featuring an additional bump map for the scratches. To generate the physical dynamic simulation of the carrying strap I used the Hair module of Cinema 4D. I created just one hair guide as a spline generator and used a deformer to wrap the polygons along in a natural way.
